Mopeds & microcars

AM - Mopeds and microcars

from 14

The licence for 50cc mopeds and light quadricycles (microcars). A first step into mobility, with theory and a practical test.

Motorbikes

A1 - 125cc motorbikes

from 16

Motorbikes up to 125cc and max 11 kW, and tricycles up to 15 kW. The ideal licence to start out on two wheels.

A2 - Medium motorbikes

from 18

Motorbikes up to 35 kW. After 2 years on an A2 you can move up to the A licence without a theory exam.

A - Unrestricted motorbikes

from 24

All motorbikes with no power limit. Available at 24 (direct access) or at 20 with at least 2 years on an A2 licence.

Category A without an exam: if you have held an A2 licence for at least 2 years, you can move up to the full A licence with a simple training course, without taking an exam.

Cars & heavy vehicles

B - Car

from 18

Vehicles up to 3.5 t and 9 seats. Includes accompanied driving from 17 and the B96/BE extension for trailers.

C / CE - Trucks and articulated lorries

from 18-21

Goods vehicles over 3.5 t (C) and articulated lorries with trailer (CE). Often combined with the goods CQC.

D1 - Minibuses

from 21

Vehicles carrying up to 16 passengers and no longer than 8 metres. The right choice for shuttles, school buses and group transport.

D / DE - Buses

from 24

Vehicles for carrying passengers (buses). Usually combined with the passenger CQC for professional service.

Boating

Boating licences

from 18

Within and beyond 12 nautical miles from the coast, sail and motor. Theory courses and practical navigation training.

Documents to bring

To enrol and start the process

  • Valid ID + photocopy
  • Tax code / health card + photocopy
  • 2 recent passport photos (colour, light background)
  • Medical certificate - usually done on site
  • Any licence already held (for higher categories)
  • For minors: ID and consent of a parent
  • For non-EU citizens: valid residence permit
